Job Details
Work Performed:
• Provides direct medical care to patients as assigned, including primary care and Accident & Emergency patients as required. Includes examining patients, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatment and referring patients to other specialists when appropriate.
• Accurately and thoroughly document orders, findings, observations, conclusions and recommendations in the patient\'s medical record in a timely fashion.
• Provides medical cover in the Accident & Emergency Department as necessary, including rostered night cover.
• Consults with and provides consultation to other medical staff.
• Manages physical and human resources within the scope of his responsibilities to assure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
• Attends all departmental and medical staff meetings. Shares the on-call schedule as required.
• Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
